Beautiful and tranquil little lodge in a private reserve teeming with wildlife. We had breakfast and dinners at the onsite restaurant and food was bountiful and delicious. Staff were hospitable and warm - they even baked a birthday cake for the celebration of our child. The reserve was family friendly, and we had alot of good sightings of giraffes, zebras and kudus amongst many others.

Located 68 km from the Orpen Gate of the Kruger National Park, Moya Safari Lodge & Villa features accommodation, a restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a bar. The lodge was even better than my expectations. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, the rooms were comfortable and luxurious, and the food was excellent. There was also a viewing deck, which was an added bonus. A lovely lodge with lots to offer.

We chose The Outpost Lodge for an impromptu 30th anniversary getaway. We have always wanted to visit the northernmost part of the Kruger to see how it compares to the rest of the park. The Outpost is situated on a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River and the view from our room was breath-taking. The contemporary open plan rooms have retractable remote-controlled blinds, that offer uninterrupted views of the river when open. It was indeed a once-in-a-lifetime experience to sleep with no walls between you and the wilderness. On the second night, we were treated to elephants trumpeting just outside our room! The lodge is situated in a private concession. The staff mainly consists of members of the Makuleke tribe. We were treated like royalty and no effort was spared to make our stay a memorable one. It is evident that the staff are extremely well trained, but also that they love what they do. Our room was immaculately clean, the food was 5-star and wherever we went, we were greeted with friendly smiles. The fauna, flora and vistas in this part of the Kruger is by far the most impressive of the whole park. We were fortunate enough to visit both the Lanner Gorge and the Fever Forest on game drives. This is not the area of the Kruger you should go to if you want to see the big five, as you probably won’t, but that said, there is still a decent amount of wildlife to see. We saw elephant, zebra, nyala, impala, baboons, kudu and hippo.

Situated in Phalaborwa, 26 km from Phalaborwa Gate, Abelana River Lodge features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. Highlights: - Rooms are very comfortable! Cozy for the winter because there is a fireplace and amazing for summer because of the balcony in the rooms (where I tanned every morning :) ) - Very protected area, so there are animals naturally around the property. We got to see elephants bathing and playing in the river from our balcony, monkeys were always jumping on our rooftop! - Service is amazing, shout out to Cedric our Ranger!
